Modern western culture has changed how we think about and approach birth and parenting so much...often it has become a fear based, stressful and isolated experience.
We are shown images of birth and told stories through friends, the media and the movies that reflect pain and exhaustion - and yet women's bodies are designed to birth and we've been doing it forever.
Similarly we are taught to either expect instantly be able to do it all as a mother - work, cook, clean, parent, socialise and still present as Instagram perfect every day...or that we will never sleep again and will be stressed and overwhelmed once the baby arrives!
It's no wonder that Post Natal Depression and 'Baby Blues' are at their highest level in Western societies.
So much of our focus falls to the pregnancy and the birth that we rarely truly prepare for the changes in lives after our baby arrives and often we forget to honour those changes and the new role of being a mother.
Join Jess for an afternoon where we will learn how to start to think about birth and new parenthood differently...and why doing so can have such a huge impact on your birthing and new mothering experiences.
Starting off with a beautiful pre-natal yoga class run by Angea's Dr Amanda Waaldyk who specialises in pre-natal yoga and acupuncture, we will relax into an afternoon that will lay the foundations for a positive birth and help you best navigate the first few months of motherhood.
This workshop is suited to first time mothers as well as mums who are looking for a few extra tools to make birth and new motherhood a bit easier than it was the first (or even second or third etc) time around.
Jess will share with you a helicopter view of Hypnobirthing and lots of information tips and tools to make birth and new motherhood an amazing, positive experience - for both mum and baby! You'll walk away knowing all of the tools you can use to make the rest of your pregnancy, birth experience, and life as a new mum as rewarding and empowering as it can be.
